The wireless internet service provider BreedeNet has partnered with Dryland Event Management for 2018 and beyond to provide state of the art broadcast solutions to riders, the media and even fans of mountain biking at Dryland events. Starting at the 2018 Momentum Health Attakwas Extreme, presented by Biogen – on the 20th of January – BreedeNet will be providing race village WiFi for all Dryland Event Management races.
Internet connectivity has become an increasingly important factor in our modern lives and with Dryland Event Management hosting races in areas where internet access is often limited the partnership between BreedeNet and Dryland is a particularly relevant one. BreedeNet’s technical experience of delivering internet access in remote rural areas allow mountain bikers and trail runners to upload their activities, post their photos and videos on social media and communicate with their loved ones at home from all Dryland events.
In addition to providing event entrant WiFi BreedeNet have also committed to delivering high speed internet for the in-house and riding/running media, in order to ensure that each event is broadcast to the world in a manner which encapsulates the superb entrant experience Dryland offer. Mountain biking fans will also be excited to note that BreedeNet are working in conjunction with Bigshot Media to live stream the racing action from the 2018 Momentum Health Tankwa Trek, presented by Biogen, in February.
Dudley Davids, the Chief Executive Officer for BreedeNet, is excited to showcase the capabilities of BreedeNet to Dryland Event Management race entrants. “We want to make sure that passionate cyclists stay in contact with the rest of the world by using our fast and reliable internet,” Davids said.
“We are really excited that BreedeNet are joining the family of Dryland partners and we are looking forward to seeking ways to do groundbreaking work with them at our events” Henco Rademeyer, of Dryland Event Management, said. “BreedeNet provided WiFi for the riders and media at the Tankwa Trek last year and we could not have been more impressed by their service. Not only was the internet exceptionally fast, it was also very reliable allowing us to upload the daily television productions without a glitch.”
Bigshot Media, the television production company which broadcasts all of Dryland Event Management’s races are also excited about the potential the partnership with BreedeNet provides. Mark le Roux, of Bigshot Media, is particularly looking forward to the Momentum Health Tankwa Trek, presented by Biogen. “Bigshot Live will be covering the event as usual but we have decided to live stream Stage 3 on February the 11th. Without the amazing support of BreedeNet, who are supplying our lightning fast internet connection in the middle of nowhere, we would not even give this live stream a thought. It is a technical challenge but Bigshot Live have become masters in the art of live streaming from very tough to reach places,” le Roux said.
Elaborating further he added: “The live stream broadcast of the last day of the Tankwa Trek will include highlights of the first two stages, the show will be professionally packaged and I am sure very entertaining, especially given the quality of mountain bikers taking part. The viewers will be brought up to speed before we bring them live coverage of the racing, set against the backdrop of incredible scenery of the Koue Bokkeveld. This event is close to my heart and we will do everything we can to show mountain bike fans the world’s best at play in the Momentum Health Tankwa Trek, presented by Biogen.”
“BreedeNet will also be testing some new technology with Bigshot Live during the Tankwa Trek, which could revolutionise the areas from which we can broadcast live,” le Roux concluded.
BreedeNet will also be using the partnership with Dryland Event Management to launch their services in the Southern Cape and Klein Karoo. From the 1st of January customers will be able to sign up for BreedeNet’s services in Oudtshoorn, and the surrounding Southern Cape and Klein Karoo regions.
